Introducing A.L.U.M.I.N.U.M
A.L.U.M.i.N.U.M are an Irish hip pop group, formed in Dublin Ireland 2004. The group consists of singers Magenta (Belle Bangala) and Mercury (Andre Bangala) who both started and finished school in Ireland and are currently still situated in the country.
Since growing up here Andre was made go to many music schools which have brought immense experience and knowledge within the group, while both are singers Andre and Belle write their own music and have a good lyrical understanding of each other, both under the age of 25 then took the idea to start their own group and to release a type of old school and also new school fusion of music.
A.L.U.M.i.N.U.M if asked would proudly admit that the style and type of foundation they want to build their group around came from the inspiration from great artist such as Prince, Madonna, Michael and Janet Jackson, back in the time of these greats Andre and Belle would have been very young and children of their age back then wouldn’t of bought CDs but would just have listen to those of their parents and Quoting the artists themselves “ Thankfully these were the CDs dad had at home and what at the time he would have played when we were practicing “Their first single Seduction Interlude (http://soundcloud.com/aluminum-1/seduction-interlude) was and still is the platform of music that both these musicians want to continue to aspire to.
Dependent on themselves promoting wise and finically, Seduction Interlude fell to a slow release and did not reach the heights expected on its first release in Ireland but they continued on further with a newer single Earthquake (http://soundcloud.com/aluminum-1/earthquake-hq) which was given false promises by local radio stations and fell to the same down turn as Seduction Interlude this single in particular would be a great example as what the group would indicate to be their type of new school , failure in these under achieving tracks started to bring a lot of frustration between the two artists so then writing and practising became to a minimum.
After some time it was later found that one of Mercury’s solo singles Asking The Mirror was heard by a radio station (Radio Okapi) in The DR of Congo, interest started to increase as the two artists were since life’ brought up in Europe but fathered by parents of Congolese decent. The song Asking The Mirror was rapidly becoming popular and as Radio Okapi was and still is one of the best if not the best and most respected radio station in Congo made sure its representatives sought after fast contact with the parents of the group to organise an interview over the phone as huge rumours started to spread that A.L.U.M.i.N.U.M where to arrive and perform at the 2011 presidential elections, seen as both artists are also French spoken the interview was recorded over the phone and spoken in French, the group were purely asked about their music and near future plans no questions on the rumours surfaced throughout the interview.
The group which is now being represented by a Mr. Day R Matthews (Repex Entertainment Group (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Rep3x-Entertainment-Group/221509461202089) is on a new road of new progress with their latest Single B.A.D (http://soundcloud.com/aluminum-1/01-b-a-d) which has gain quiet an amount of interest and has brought new found confidence and excitement amongst the group, a new journey has unfolded as Mr. Day R Matthews has the group working on a new album Cracks and Leaks which will also be featured by artists such as G-tribe and Alexi Duce, it has yet to be given a release date.
